In a covert operation the U.S. military killed an alleged terrorist, and hundreds of innocent people in a mountain village during a funeral by a drone missile. It is run by remote control and video footage from the Pentagon. The use of order against the alleged ringleaders made personally by the president, contrary to the low probability assessment of a new supercomputer, which stands at 51%.

Jerry Shaw returns home after the death of his twin brother Ethan, an officer in the Air Force, home to Chicago. On his account a large sum of money will be transferred and in his apartment he finds a variety of chemicals, weapons, secret documents and passports. An unknown caller urged him to flee when he was shortly after arresting a special task force of the FBI. Shaw is suspected of terrorist activities and heard. Shortly thereafter, he succeeds with the help of the caller to escape, while forcing the local rail subway, a variety of digital displays, mobile phones and a crane, by a coordinated computer manipulation by the caller Shaw to follow their instructions.

Shaw meets in a car on Rachel Holloman who is being blackmailed by the same caller, follow their instructions. If they do not mean it will carry consequences. For example, threatened to Rachel, the train, in which her son just to Washington, DC travels to derail. During the subsequent flight from the FBI and the police are led by two women on the navigation of the flight vehicle, traffic lights will be switched to green and helping to a junkyard automatically operating the two cranes on their flight.

As the film progresses more people are presented who are forced by telephone from the unknown to various actions. It turns out that the alleged wife on the phone is a simulation of the ARIA supercomputer assembled at the Pentagon, who plans to assassinate the President and his cabinet. ARIA inspected numerous electronic devices, especially the many networked surveillance systems and cameras in the United States and holds the president as a danger to society because of this, based on misinformation has ordered the military strike against suspected terrorist meeting. ARIA is relying on the Constitution of the United States, which says that the people should actively participate in the internal defense and has the right to depose the government. This will be wiped out in a bomb attack, the President and his cabinet. Shaw prevented the attack and is shot as an alleged assassin. At the end of the film, and Shaw is posthumously awarded a medal of honor his late brother, as this had been murdered while trying to resist ARIA from that. Shaw will appear at the birthday celebration of Holloman’s son and is finally kissed her on the cheek.
